Ingredients For chili barbecued ribs

  • 2
    slabs back ribs or country ribs if you'd like.
  • 2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp
    prepared mustard (i like to use honey mustard)
  • 1/2 c
    minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    lemon juice
  • 1/4 c
    steak sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder

How To Make chili barbecued ribs

    Directions for Back or Spare ribs, Cut into serving size pieces.

    Sprinkle ribs with garlic powder, salt and pepper, then baste with mustard.

    Bake ribs in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.

    Brush ribs with sauce Turn on broiler and cook until sauce caramelizes a bit.

    For Country Ribs, Sprinkle ribs with garlic powder, salt and pepper, then baste with mustard.

    Preheat your oven to 300°F. and place in a single layer in your pan, fattier side up.

    Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake for 3 hours.

    Carefully remove ribs from the oven. (steam and liquid in the tray will be hot!) Drain off liquid.

    Place ribs on a broiler pan and brush with sacue. Place under broiler just until sauce is caramelized. Turn over ribs and repeat with the other side.

    Serve with extra sauce for dipping.

    For the Sauce, Heat butter in a small sauce pan and saute minced onions until softened. Add remaining sauce ingredients and simmer 5 minutes.
