I tweaked the sauce on this recipe and it is so good I could drink it straight from the cup. Pork is succulent and flavorful.

Ingredients

1/8 c
dark soy sauce
1/4 c
regular soy sauce
1/4 c
hoisin sauce
1/2 c
mirin
1/8 c
xiao hsing or shaoxing rice wine
1 tsp
chinese five spice powder
3 clove
garlic minced
1 inch piece ginger grated
1/2 tsp
sesame oil
1/2 tsp
chinese black vinegar or rice wine vinegar
2 lb
pork butt roast
1/4 c
scallions chopped for garnish

Step-By-Step

1Mix all ingredients except pork and scallions together. Marinate the pork overnight.

2Remove pork from marinade and place in roasting pan. Baste with marinade and roast at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

3Flip roast over and baste with marinade and roast another 30 minutes.

4Finish under broiler for 2 minutes each side.
Let rest 10 minutes
