I found this recipe a long time ago online and it reminds me of a goulash I have made for years, though I haven't tried it yet. This dish is satisfying, easy and inexpensive.

Ingredients

1 lb
ground beef
1 can(s)
(15 oz.) tomato sauce
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
pepper
1/4 tsp
seasoned salt
1/2 tsp
garlic powder
8 oz
egg noodles
1/2 c
sour cream
1-1/4 c
small curd cottage cheese
1/2 c
green onions, sliced
1/2 tsp
garlic salt
freshly ground black pepper
1 c
shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef until cooked; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, salt, pepper, seasoned salt and garlic powder. Simmer on low until ready to combine in casserole.

Cook egg noodles according to package directions; drain. In a large bowl, combine sour cream, cottage cheese, green onions, garlic salt and pepper. Add cooked noodles and combine.

In a greased 13x9" baking dish, assemble in layers: 1/2 of noodle mixture, 1/2 of meat mixture, 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar; repeat all three layers.

Bake in a preheated 350ยบ oven for 25 minutes until cheese is melted and heated through.
