Northern White Chili

An easy crock pot meal on a cold winter day. I always make the (Sweet Corn Bread found on this site) to go with this dish. I typically let it simmer half a day.

Depending on the crowd, I add a can of white corn and a dash or two of Tabasco.

The flavor of this one-pot chili is so good! I thought the cloves was an usual addition, but it really adds to the overall flavor. Thanks to the cream, this was super creamy. Great for a cold night!

Ingredients

3 c
cooked chicken, I buy a rotisserie chicken
2 can(s)
northern white beans, 15 oz each
3 Tbsp
chopped onion
1 tsp
butter
1 can(s)
chilis, canned and mild
1/2 tsp
oregano, dried
1 dash(es)
cayenne pepper
2 c
water
3
chicken bouillon cube
1 tsp
cumin
1/2 tsp
cloves
1 c
heavy cream
shredded monterey cheese
sour cream

Directions Step-By-Step

Shred cooked chicken.

Sauté onion in butter till tender.

Add all ingredients minus cream, sour cream and cheese.

Let simmer on high for one hour or low for as long as needed. Thirty minutes before time to eat, add heavy cream.

Serve with shredded cheese and sour cream (opt).
