I use frozen diced onions and frozen diced green pepper to reduce the prep time. This recipe can also be prepared on the stovetop with the following changes. 1.) Brown ground beef in a large skillet or Dutch oven. Add diced onion and green pepper. Drain well. 2.) Return browned ground beef, onion and pepper mixture to your pot of choice. Add the remaining ingredients. 3.) Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Stirring often to keep Sloppy Joes from sticking to the bottom of the pot. You may have to add a small bit of water to the pot if it appears dry.

  • 2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c
    diced green pepper
  • 1/2 c
    diced onions
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 2 tsp
    yellow mustard
  • 1 3/4 c
    ketchup
  • salt
  • pepper

How To Make sloppy joes

    Brown ground beef and drain fat.

    Add all ingredients to a crock pot. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir well. cook on low for 8 hours.

    Serve on crunchy rolls or hamburger buns.
