mom's sos (creamed beef on toast)

My dad use to make this all the time. He called it shit on shingle and even though my mom disliked swearing she also referred to it as shit on shingle. I like this better than chipped beef. It is so easy and delicious.

Ingredients For mom's sos (creamed beef on toast)

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 2 c
    half and half
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    water
  • 8 slice
    bread
  • 4 lg
    eggs
  • salt and pepper

How To Make mom's sos (creamed beef on toast)

    Brown the beef and drain the fat.

    Pour half and half over the meat and bring to a boil. Mix the flour with the water and stir into beef mixture to thicken. Season with salt and pepper.

    Toast bread. Fry the eggs sunny side up.

    Serve the meat mixture over the toast and top with fried egg.
