My mother-in-law used to cook dinner every Sunday. The original of this recipe was one of hers, with only broth, tortellini, celery and carrots. Although good, I like a little more substance, so I 'doctored' this up to our liking.

Ingredients For tortellini soup

  • 2 box
    chicken broth (32 oz)
  • 2 can
    chicken breast (large)
  • 3 stalk
    celery sliced
  • 1/2 bag
    baby carrots chunked
  • 1 bunch
    green onions sliced
  • 1 box
    frozen peas
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • parsley flakes
  • 1 bag
    frozen three cheese tortellini

How To Make tortellini soup

  • 1
    Put broth into large pan. Add celery, carrots, onions, and seasonings and bring to slow boil.

    Drain chicken and put into broth. Simmer for about 5 minutes.

    Add frozen tortellini and peas. Cook another 5-10 minutes until pasta and peas are cooked.

    Serve with garlic bread and sprinkle with grated Romano or Parmesan cheese.
