Mom's Spaghetti Sauce

This is a recipe that my mother used to make. I switched out the green bell peppers for red bell peppers as I find the taste mellower and easier to digest. I enjoy a bit of background heat so I used the cayenne or aleppo peppers. I also use my own home canned crushed tomatoes. I sometimes serve it over spaghetti squash instead of noodles.

Step-By-Step

1Brown the hamburger, add the onion and saute until clear. add the garlic and saute until fragrant. Add the red wine, saute until it cooks down and the alcohol evaporates.

3Add the spices, salt, sugar, and dried red peppers. Simmer on high for 30 minutes, then set on the low setting for 5-6 hours.
