I love pizza! I had the chance to go to Italy in 2011. I visited family in Naples where pizza was invented. I miss that authentic oven brick taste so I decided to make my own. Here it is, home made pizza with Naples as my inspiration!

Ingredients

1 tsp
dry active yeast
1 tsp
sugar
1/2 tsp
salt
2/3 c
water, warm
2 c
flour
1 1/2 c
mozzarella cheese shredded
1 small
tomato
4 Tbsp
olive oil, extra virgin
1 Tbsp
red pepper flakes
1 Tbsp
garlic powder
1 tsp
rosemary sprigs
1 tsp
oregano, fresh
1 can(s)
tomato sauce, or homemade sauce

Directions Step-By-Step

In a large bowl add the warm water, and yeast. Mix slightly. Let this sit for five or ten minutes until the mixture starts to foam. Add the salt and oil.

Gradually stir in the flour until the mixture becomes too thick to stir. Place the ball of dough on a floured wooden surface, add some flour to the top of the dough. Kneed the dough for about ten to fifteen minutes. The dough will be slightly sticky but still smooth and workable.

Put the dough in a glass bowl and add about a teaspoon of olive oil on the top of the dough and smooth it around. Place a dish towel over the bowl and let the dough rise for one hour.

Place more flour on a wooden surface and roll out the dough until it's about an inch or inch in a half thick. I used a baking dish since I don't have a pizza stone, so I tried to roll the dough in the shape of a rectangle.

Place the rolled dough in the baking dish. Add a little olive oil on top of the dough. Also add tomato sauce, sliced tomatoes, oregano, rosemary, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, mozzarella cheese and top with more olive oil. Bake in the oven for about eight minutes,rotate the pizza and bake until the crust is golden brown.
