Ingredients For southwest planked salmon

  • 1 lb
    salmon
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • 5 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    white wine
  • 1
    cedar grilling plank

How To Make southwest planked salmon

  • 1
    Cook all ingredients (except wine & salmon) over medium heat for 3 - 4 minutes, set aside for a few minutes, then mix in wine. Cool to room temperature.

    Place salmon in marinade, cover with plastic wrap & refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

    Soak cedar planks in water for at least 2 hours or overnight.

    Place planks directly on the grill over medium low - medium heat & close the grill lid. When plank begins to smoke, place marinated salmon on the plank, close the lid & grill until cooked through, about 10 - 12 minutes. NOTE: If the edges of the plank catch fire, spray with water.
