Mr. Loudon's Hushpuppies

Hushpuppies are fried seasoned cornmeal balls that Louisiana residents love to eat with any type of fish, especially fried catfish! The legend says that the name came from Southerners frying fish outdoors and their dogs yappinhg for handouts. They would throw these lumps of fried cornmeal to their dogs and yell, "hush puppies!" Don't know how true this is but it IS a cute legend!
This hushpuppy recipe came from a resident that I had at a long term care facility. Thanks Mr. Loudon, I love this!
