So many people think crabcakes are an exotic dish; however, they are really quite simple to make in a short amount of time

Ingredients

1 lb
lump crab meat
1
egg
1/2 c
mayonnaise
1/2 c
bread crumbs
1/4 c
onion, finely chopped
1/4 c
chopped red and green bell peppers (optional)
1 tsp
worcestershire sauce
1/8 c
chopped cilantro (optional)
1/2 tsp
tabasco sauce
1 Tbsp
oilve oil
1 Tbsp
butter
salt & pepper to taste

Directions Step-By-Step

Carefully pick through the crab meat and remove any shells or cartilage

In a mixing bowl, break up crab meat gently with a fork (do not overdo or cakes will be "mushy"

Place all other ingredients in with the crab meat and blend with a fork until well mixed.

Again, take care not to overmix the crab meat

Heat butter and olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat

Form crab cake mixture into 2" patties and place in heated oil

Brown one side, then place under broiler with unbrowned side toward the broiler for 2 minutes

Any extra cakes can be frozen for later use
