Ingredients For turkey brine

  • 2 gal
    water, cold
  • 1 - 10 oz bottle
    soy sauce
  • 1/2 c
    kosher salt
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    sage, dried
  • 2 Tbsp
    celery seed
  • 1 Tbsp
    thyme, dried
  • 5 clove
    garlic, smashed
  • 16 - 24 lb
    turkey

How To Make turkey brine

  • 1
The night before roasting, remove giblets & neck; rinse inside & out.
  • 2
In a large stockpot or clean 5 gallon bucket; mix all ingredients together. Stir well until salt & sugar is dissolved.
  • 3
Add turkey in pot, cover & refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours. NOTE: If frigerator is not big enough...you can place the bucket outside if it's cold enough. About 35 degrees would be perfect so it doesn't freeze but is cold enough to keep it cold.

Remove turkey from the brine, rinse well. Follow your regular cooking recipe directions.
