As someone who grew up in the greater Buffalo area, eating real Buffalo chicken wings for over 40 years, I am astounded at the number of Buffalo wing dip recipes that bear no resemblance to the real thing! I got this recipe from a member of my former MOPS group several years ago, and it's the best!!

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Made with a few simple ingredients, this Buffalo chicken dip is a game-day must. We felt like you can taste the blue cheese dressing a bit more in this version. Cooking the chicken breasts in a pressure cooker is a snap. Creamy, cheesy, and full of Buffalo flavor, this dip is a delicious snack for watching football.

Ingredients For true buffalo chicken wing dip

  • 1 to 2
cooked chicken breasts, depending on size
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c
    blue cheese dressing
  • 5 oz
Frank's red hot sauce, to taste (this is what we use in Buffalo!)
  • 2 c
    shredded mozzarella cheese

How To Make true buffalo chicken wing dip

  • Shredded chicken coated in Buffalo sauce in a skillet.
    1
Shred cooked chicken and place in a skillet over medium heat. Pour Frank's Red Hot sauce over and stir to coat. Use as much or little as you prefer. Obviously, the more Frank's you use the hotter your dip will be!! Heat through, about 5 minutes or so, stirring often.
  • Cream cheese in a pie plate.
    2
Spread softened cream cheese in the bottom of a pie pan.
  • Buffalo chicken spread over cream cheese.
    3
    Spread chicken over that.
  • Blue cheese spread over chicken.
    4
Then spoon the blue cheese dressing over the chicken and smooth out.
  • Cheese sprinkled over the top before it bakes.
    5
Top with the shredded mozzarella cheese and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • Buffalo chicken wing dip cooling.
    6
Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. I usually stir before serving as well, but be warned, this does not make for a pretty dish! When serving to guests you may want to refrain from stirring.
  • A small bowl of True Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip with tortilla chips.
    7
    Serve with tortilla chips.
