This recipe started off with me tinkering in the kitchen trying to make my own signature sauce. Cause lets face it this has no chemicles or preservatives like store sauce plus most ingredients you have already so doesn't cost nearly as much as store bought. And I'm a penny pincher always looking for a deal or cheaper way to make something. Am I cheap?? No. I'm frugal

8 nice size chicken leg quarters.

Ingredients

1 bottle
ketchup
1/4 c
dark corn syrup
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
3 tsp
liquid smoke flavoring
2 large
bay leaves
1 medium
onion
2 clove
garlic
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tsp
olive oil, extra virgin

Step-By-Step

1Dice onion and garlic cloves
2Heat olive oil in medium sauce pot over medium heat
3Add onion and garlic to hot oil saute for about 3 minutes or until onion is translucent.
4Add remaining ingredients bring to a boil reduce to a simmer. Cook for 1 hour stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaves when done and slather on anything you want. This is a very versatile sause.
5If you would like honey barbeque sauce wait till finished cooking and remove from heat and add Honey.
