Ingredients For st. paul's rice

  • 1 lb
    sweet italian sausage, no casings
  • 2 lg
    onions, sliced
  • 2 sm
    green peppers, chopped
  • 3 ribs
    celery, sliced
  • 2 c
    frozen peas, thawed
  • 4 c
    water
  • 2 c
    instant rice
  • 1 pkg
    dehydrated chicken noodle soup
  • scallions, sliced

How To Make st. paul's rice

    In a large nonstick skillet, brown sausage over medium high heat. Add onions, celery & peas to skillet. Over medium heat, cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are tender & sausage is cooked through, about 15 - 20 minutes.

    Meanwhile, in medium pot, bring water, rice & dehydrated soup to boil; reduce heat to medium. Simmer until rice & noodles are tender, about 7 minutes, adding additional water if needed.

    Combine rice mixture & sausage mixture & serve topped with scallions.
