Ingredients For powerful "change of life" soup

1 Tbspolive oil, extra virgin
-
1 lgonion, diced
-
5 clovegarlic, minced
-
32 ozchicken, vegetable or beef broth
-
4 cwater
-
1 cmushrooms, sliced
-
1 cokra, sliced
-
1 canartichoke hearts, drained
-
1 cbroccoli florets, chopped
-
1 lgbaking potato, cubed
- SEASONINGS:
-
1bay leaf
-
1 tspthyme, dried
-
2 tspsea salt
-
1/2 tspred pepper flakes
-
1/2 tspcayenne pepper
- PROTEIN:
-
1 lbcooked & cubed, turkey, ham, chicken breast, shrimp or tofu
- STARCH:
-
1 cbeans, rice (brown or white), orzo or any pasta, cooked

1/4 cparsley flakes
-
1/4 cbasil, fresh, chopped
-
salt & pepper, to taste
-
lemon wedges
How To Make powerful "change of life" soup

1In a large pot, heat oil. Add onion & saute until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic & saute, about 1 minute. Add broth, water, vegetables & seasonings. Bring to boil.

2Reduce heat, cover & simmer for 20 minutes. Add protein of choice & starch of choice & simmer 10 minutes more.

3Remove bay leaf. Stir in parsley & basil. Season with salt & pepper. Ladle into bowl & squeeze lemon wedge over soup & serve.
