Easy Indian Chicken Curry

India loves curries and so do I. There are numerous ways to prepare curries with the same ingredients. E.g. There can be not less than 40-50 ways to prepare Chicken curries or Fish curries or any vegetarian curries. I prepared chicken curry today which I would like to share.

[Note: I have used potato in the curry which is optional]

Ingredients

6-8
chicken pieces (big)
4 Tbsp
oil / butter
1 tsp
turmeric powder
salt to taste
2
green chilli
1/2 c
water, boiling

FOR THE MASALA (PASTE)

1
onion, medium size
1 1/2 Tbsp
garlic paste
1 tsp
ginger paste
1 tsp
red chilli powder
1
tomato
1 tsp
cardamon, ground
1/2 tsp
cinnamon, ground
1 tsp
poppy seeds
1 Tbsp
cilantro, fresh

Step-By-Step

1Ground everything for MASALA to a smooth paste.

2Marinate Chicken in that masala for 10 minutes.

3Heat oil / Butter and add arinated chicken with the paste. Add salt, turmeric powder and cook till oil separates which is important indication that the masala is being cooked properly.

4Add green chilli [optional] and 1/2 cup of water and cook till it boils. Serve with white rice or bread.
