Delicious! A family favorite, that I've been making for years. It was cool enough today to turn on the oven, so this is what the kids requested.

Ingredients

20 - 24 oz
cooked frozen broccoli or today i used fresh that i steamed - dont over cook, just to tender crisp

chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
1 tsp
each - onion salt & celery salt
1/4 c
each - butter & flour
2 c
milk
1/3 c
shredded cheddar cheese
1/3 c
mayonnaise
3 1/2 Tbsp
sherry
1/2 c
heavy cream
1 tsp
worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
each - pepper & nutmeg
1 1/2 cup
shredded parmesan cheese

Directions Step-By-Step

In a dutch oven, place chicken, add celery salt & onion salt - cover with water and poach until chicken runs clear. Remove chicken to cool. Cut into bite sized pieces.

In a large saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter, stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Whisk in the 2 cups of milk and continue stirring until thickens. Remove from heat and stir in, sherry, cheddar cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, nutmeg and cream, thoroughly blend.

Preheat oven to 350 degree F.

Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish. Spread about a ladle size of sauce to cover bottom of dish. Layer chicken and broccoli with sauce. Making sure broccoli and chicken are covered. Sprinkle evenly with Parmesan cheese.

Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is starting to turn golden.

I serve with a tossed salad and baguettes.
