Ingredients For crock pot chinese pork

  • 2 c
    carrots, shredded
  • 2 c
    celery, chopped into 1" pieces
  • 1 sm
    bell pepper, chopped into 1" pieces
  • 3 md
    potatoes, chopped into 1" pieces
  • 2 1/4 lb
    pork tenderloin, cubed
  • 1 bunch
    scallions, seperate green & white
  • 2 1/2 c
    chicken stock
  • 1/4 c
    soy sauce, low sodium
  • 3 Tbsp
    port wine
  • 4 tsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    ginger, fresh, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    rice vinegar
  • 2 - 4 tsp
    chinese chile-garlic sauce
  • 4 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp
    aniseed
  • 1
    cinnamon stick

How To Make crock pot chinese pork

    Line bottom of crock pot with vegetables. Top with pork & scallion whites. In medium saucepan, add stock, soy sauce, wine, brown sugar, ginger, vinegar, chile-garlic sauce & garlic. Bring to a simmer. Pour over pork & vegetables. Add aniseed & nestle cinnamon stick into mixture.

    Cover & cook 5 1/2 - 6 hours on LOW. Discard cinnamon stick. Remove any visible fat from the surface. If sauce is too thin use a water/flour mixture to thicken, stirring until slightly thickened. Garnish with scallion greens.
