Butter chicken rice

This is made from left over home made butter chicken gravy. I made it for my grandchildren, Ameera, Shiv, Vir and Jai and they loved it!!!

Ingredients

2 c
butter chicken gravy
2 c
chopped and cubed cooked chicken from the curry
3 med
red onions roughly sliced
2 tsp
salt
1 1/2 c
basmati rice
2-3
green chilies slit and deseeded
8-10
cloves garlic smashed
1 c
water
2 tsp
oil or butter

Directions Step-By-Step

Wash rice thoroughly. Pour oil into hot saucepan and add onions. Fry till light pink. Add cooked chicken and garlic. Fry 1 min. Add rice, gravy , water and salt. Stir well. Cover pan and let cook on slow fire till all the liquid is absorbed. Put green chilies on top of the cooked rice and cover pan again. Leave about 10 minutes.

Serve hot with plain yogurt. Yummy.
