Ingredients For asian chicken burger

  • LIME MAYO:
  • 3/4 c
    mayonnaise, fat-free
  • 1/2 tsp
    lime zest
  • 1 Tbsp
    lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    sriracha (see below) or chili sauce
  • BURGERS:
  • 2 lb
    ground chicken
  • 1/2 c
    scallions, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    soy sauce, low sodium
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemongrass, minced
  • 6 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 6 Tbsp
    hoisin sauce
  • 6
    hamburger buns or rolls
  • SIDE DISH:
  • sweet potato fries or sweet potato chips, for serving, optional

How To Make asian chicken burger

    LIME MAYO: Combine the mayonnaise, Sriracha, lime zest & juice in a small bowl. Set aside.

    BURGERS: Combine the chicken, scallions, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, lemongrass & garlic, gently mixing to incorporate. Divide the mixture into 6 patties & set aside. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat, & brush with the vegetable oil. Place the patties on the grill & cook, turning once until done, 6 - 8 minutes per side. During the last few minutes of cooking, baste each burger with 1 tbsp hoisin sauce.

    ASSEMBLY: Spread about 1 tbsp of the Sriracha lime mayo on each bun bottom & top. Place the patties on the bun bottoms, add the bun top. These burgers are great served with sweet potato fries or sweet potato chips.

    Sriracha = (Hot Chili Sauce) Sriracha is made from sun ripen chilies which are ground into a smooth paste along with garlic & packaged in a convenient squeeze bottle. It is excellent in soups, sauces, pastas, pizzas, hot dogs, hamburgers, chowmein or on anything else to give it a delicious, spicy taste.
