My grandmother used to make this in a cast iron skillet when my brother, sister and I were children. It was always a favorite of ours. The only tweak I made is using steak seasoning which was not available back then. It's a quick, easy, and tasty meal when time is short. Plus it's a great way to get children to eat their veggies! My own children are grown with families of their own but it's still a favorite go-to meal for my husband and I. My husband loves the leftovers, too!
The recipe can easily be doubled if needed for a group larger than 4 people.
