The Cooking Witch's Homemade Sloppy Joes

I made up this recipe when I found out that my family didn't really care for canned sloppy joe mix and I said "I can do better". This can be made with either ground beef or ground turkey and is wonderful wither way.

Ingredients

1 lb
ground beef or ground turkey
1 small
onion, chopped
1 small
red pepper, chopped
1/3 c
celery, chopped
1 can(s)
tomato soup
1/2 c
ketchup
2 Tbsp
yellow mustard
1 Tbsp
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 tsp
black pepper

Step-By-Step

1Brown beef or turkey, onions, peppers, and celery until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are soft. Drain.
2Mix together remainder of ingredients in a measuring cup.
Place all ingredients into a heavy pot and mix well.
simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
3serve over hamburger buns or baked potatoes. Add parmesan cheese to the top, if desire.
4This recipe can be doubled or tripled and put into a crockpot.Cook on low for 3 hours.
