Tator Tot Green Bean Casserole

This is a great all in one casserole for dinner. Great way to get kids to eat veggies.

1 to 2 lb
ground beef
1 can(s)
cream of mushroom soup
1 can(s)
cream of chicken soup
1- 4oz can(s)
chopped green chilis
1 to 2 can(s)
drained green beans
1 pkg
tator tots
1/2 c
water or milk.. your choice
1 medium
chopped onion
salt and pepper to taste
1 pkg
shredded mexican cheese


1Preheat oven to 350 degrees...In a 13x9x2 baking dish open the tator tots and place in the bottom of the baking dish. This will let them start to thaw while getting the rest of the recipe ready.
2In a skillet brown ground beef,onion and salt and pepper. Drain
3In a large bowl, mix together the soups,water,green chilis,and green beans and half of the cheese.
4Now add the meat to the soup mixture and stir till meat is covered.
5Pour the mixture over the tator tots, top with the rest of the cheese...pop in the oven for about 35 to 45 minutes..let cool slightly when you remove it from the oven...it gets thicker as it cools..but it is good right from the oven as well.
6I think this would be delish with french fried onions on top but haven't tried that yet. You could also omit the green chilis...it just gives it a pop of flavor.
