Truth be told, we could sit down in front of the big game and make quite a dent in this delicious taco salad all by ourselves! It's easy to make and very filling. Adding Italian dressing makes this different than other taco salad recipes. It's surprisingly delicious and brings a hint of tangy flavor.

Ingredients For super bowl taco showdown

  • 1 lb
    ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 pkg
    taco seasoning mix
  • 1
    lettuce, chopped
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 2 c
    sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 can
    kidney beans (16 oz)
  • 1 bag
    Doritos tortilla chips, crushed (14.5 oz)
  • 1 bottle
    Wish-bone Italian dressing (8 oz)
  • 1 bottle
    Pace picante sauce (24 oz, optional)
  • 1 pkg
    sour cream (16 oz, optional)
  • 1 can
    black olives (2.25 oz, optional)

You'll want to add the tortilla chips and dressing right before serving in order to retain a nice texture.
  • Browned ground beef with taco seasoning cooling.

    Saute ground beef or ground turkey. Drain. Add taco seasoning. Let cool.
  • Ground beef, lettuce, onion, cheddar cheese, kidney beans, and Italian dressing mixed in a bowl.

    In a large bowl mix ground beef or ground turkey, lettuce, onion, sharp cheddar cheese, kidney beans, and 1/2 bottle of Wish-Bone Italian dressing. Mix well.
