Stuffed Burger Bundles

susan simons

This is a recipe I tried out of the Febuary/March 2011 Simple & Delicious Magazine pg. 49. Submitted by Debbie Carter of Kingsburg, CA.

It is a wonderful satisfying comfort dish, that is so easy and inexpensive ($1.39 per serving)to make, yet elegant enough for company. This recipe is easy to double to serve 8. I made it with mashed potatoes and fresh steamed green beans and red peppers.

I used savory herb stuffing mix.

1 Tbsp
1 can(s)
(10 3/4oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted

1Prepare stuffing according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the milk, salt and thmye. Crumble beef over milk mixture and mix well. Shape mixture into eight thin patties. Divide stuffing between four patties; top with remaining patties and press edges firmly to seal.
2Place in an ungreased 13-in.x9-in. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees and juices run clear.
3For sauce, in a large skillet, saute mushrooms in butter until tender. Stir in the remaining ingredients; het through. Serve over burgers.
