Another great recipe from BUNKO this past week. It is typically made on Italian bread but since my husband doesn't care for that kind of bread, I made him some on regular hamburger buns. This is so good and makes several. It was a great meal for 12 BUNKO women!
1In a Dutch oven, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the catsup, tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, oregano, fennel seed and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered, for 15 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
2In small bowl, combine butter and remaining garlic powder; spread over top halves of bread. Sprinkle 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese over each bottom bread half. Spoon meat mixture over top; sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese. Replace bread tops; wrap each sandwich loaf in foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes or until cheese is melted. Slice into eight pieces from each loaf. Yield: 2 sandwich loaves (8 servings each).
