Yep I like cooking with beer. I find it flavors the meat and gravy richly.

Ingredients For stew with beer

  • 2 lb
    good stew meat
  • 3 Tbsp
    raw organic butter or european butter
  • 2
    green bell peppers, clean and diced in to 1
  • 2
    red bell peppers, cleaned and diced into 1
  • 1
    small onion sliced
  • 1
    garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • 1
    small can of beer
  • flour for drudging
  • 4
    large potatoes, clean, peeled and cut into quarters

How To Make stew with beer

    Wet your stew meat in the beer and drudge in flour.

    Heat a dutch oven on high heat and add the butter and oil. Brown the meat a little at a time. Return all meat to the dutch oven and add the beer, peppers, salt, pepper, and onion. Cover slightly and cook on a low heat until meat is tender. Adding more beer when needed. Add potatoes last 30 minutes of cooking. Add potatoes last 30 minutes of cooking.
