Ingredients For steak & green peppers

2 lbround steak

1/4 csoy sauce
-
1 cwater chestnuts

1 cbeef bouillon
-
2garlic cloves, mashed

3 Tbspcornstarch
-
1/2 tspginger
-
1/4 cwater
-
3 Tbspvegetable oil

rice, cooked
-
1 cboiling water
-
3 lggreen bell peppers
How To Make steak & green peppers

1Cut the steak into 1/2\" strips.

2Combine the soy sauce, beef bouillon, mashed garlic and ginger.

3Pour this marinade over the steak strips and cover.

4Marinate, refrigerated, at least 2 hours (up to 12 hours).

5Drain the meat and discard the garlic.

6Reserve 1/2 cup of the marinade.

7Dry the meat strips on toweling.

8Brown the meat in the vegetable oil in a large skillet.

9Heat the reserved marinade in a separate pan.

10Add the reserved marinade and the boiling water to the meat and cover.

11Simmer about 45 minutes.

12Add the green bell pepper strips and the sliced water chestnuts.

13Simmer until the meat is tender.

14Mix the cornstarch in the second measure of water until smooth.

15Gradually stir this mixture into the meat mixture.

16Continue stirring until the gravy thickens.

17Serve over boiled white rice.
