Spoon Burgers were popular back in the 30’s during the days of the Depression. This is a simple supper and easy on the ol’ grocery budget. It was actually a delicious, filling meal!

Ingredients For spoonburgers

3 lbchuck, cut into 3/4 inch cubes

1 1/2 cwater

1 Tbspsalt

1/4 coil

1 cchopped onions

2 clovegarlic, chopped

2 Tbspsugar

2 tsppaprika
-
1 tsppepper
-
1 1/2 tspdry mustard

1/3 cvinegar

1/3 cdark molasses
-
1/4 cworcestershire sauce

2 can(6 oz) tomato paste
How To Make spoonburgers

1Combine beef, water, and salt. Simmer covered, until tender.

2Saute' onion and garlic in oil; add vegetables to oil. Add sugar and remaining ingredients to beef.

3Cover and simmer for about one hour or until sauce is thick and beef is very tender.
