2 cbuttermilk

1 csour cream, fat-free

1 lgonion, cut into 1" thick slices, seperated into rings

1 1/2 call purpose flour

1/4 cscallions (both greens & whites), finely chopped

kosher salt & pepper

2 lbground beef, lean
-
1/4 cworcestershire sauce, reduced sodium

olive oil, extra virgin
-
1/4 cketchup
-
1 clovegarlic, minced
-
1 Tbspparsley flakes
-
1 Tbspdill, fresh
-
1 Tbspchives, bunch
-
1 Tbsplemon juice
-
1/4 tsptabasco
-
4buns or rolls
-
romaine lettuce leaves, chopped
How To Make sour cream onion ring burgers

1Fill deep fryer with vegetable oil; heat to 350 degrees F. Mix 1 1/2 C buttermilk, 1/2 C sour cream; mix well; add onion rings; soak for about 15 minutes. On plate, toss flour with scallions; season with salt & pepper. Dip onion rings into flour mixture; then in buttermilk mixture; then again in flour mixture. Fry 1 - 2 rings at a time; turning once, until golden, about 4 minutes. Transfer to rack & cool completely.

2Heat grill to medium high heat. Mix beef, worceshershire, pepper & salt. Divide beef into 4 patties. Drizzle with olive oil. Cook burgers 5 minutes per side (medium).

3Mix remaining buttermilk, sour cream, ketchup, garlic, herbs, lemon juice, salt, pepper & tabasco; mix well. Place burgers on bottom roll/bun; top with lettuce, onion rings & dressing; top off with top roll/bun.
