Ingredients For sloppy joes

  • 2 lb
    ground beef (90/10)
  • 15 oz
    no salt added diced tomatoes pureed in blender
  • 1/2 c
    onion, finely diced
  • 1/2 c
    green pepper, finely diced
  • 1/2 c
    red bell, finely diced
  • 4 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 tsp
    cumin
  • 2 tsp
    paprika
  • 4 tsp
    granulated garlic
  • 1 tsp
    coarse sea salt
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 tsp
    worchestshire sauce
  • 4 oz
    tomato paste
  • 1 tsp
    bold & spicy mustard
  • 4 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • pinch nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp
    lemon juice

How To Make sloppy joes

    Simmer peppers and onions in small amount of olive oil till tender. Add minced, canned diced tomatoes. Add 1 tsp of paprika, cumin, 2 tsp chili powder, 2 tsp granulated garlic, and worcestshire sauce, mix together well, add ground beef.

    Cook on med. high till beef is done, (about 20 min.). Mix together tomato paste, and 1/2 c. of water, brown sugar, nutmeg, salt, pepper, 1 tsp paprika, 2 tsp chili powder, 2 tsp granulated garlic, lemon juice and mustard, mix well. Add to beef and simmer for about 10 min more. Serve on toasted bun.
