Ingredients

1.5 lb
lean ground beef
2 slice
bacon, chopped
1/2 c
milk
1 large
egg
1/4 c
bread crumbs, dry
1 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
dry mustard
1/4 tsp
pepper
1/8 tsp
garlic powder

STUFFING INGREDIENTS

1/2 c
butter
1/4 c
onion, chopped
1/2 c
celery leaves
2 c
bread crumbs, fresh
1/4 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
sage
1/8 tsp
thyme
2 Tbsp
parsley, chopped
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 dash(es)
pepper

Step-By-Step

1Heat the oven to 350.
2Mix all of the ingredients except the stuffing together.
3Spread 2/3rds of the mixture into an ungreased loaf pan 9 X 5 X 3-inches, pressing the mixture up the sides of the pan to within 3/4 inch of the top.
4Spoon the stuffing onto the mixture in the pan and then top with the remaining meat mixture covering the stuffing completely.
5Bake in the oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
6Drain off the excess fat and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing into thick slices.
7Serve on a heated platter.
8MEAT LOAF STUFFING: Melt the butter in a large skillet.
9Add the onion and the celery and cook an stir until the onion is tender.
10Remove from the heat and stir in the remaining ingredients.
