the only thing that I kept from my mother's meatloaf is the whole hard boiled egg in the center and, of course, the meat.
italian bread crumbs
onion soup mix
hard boiled egg
ketchup and bbq sauce for glaze
1preheat oven to 350 degrees
2mix together the first 6 ingredients. Form onto a rectangular loaf. With side of hand, make an indentation in center of loaf. Place hard boiled egg in meat. Cover and re-form loaf. Place in rectangular baking pan ( not a loaf pan). spread a mixture of 1/2 ketchup and 1/2 BBQ sauce (to your taste)on top of loaf. Bake 45 minutes uncovered. Let stand 5 at least five minutes before serving.
