Mom's Best Beef Chow Mein Casserole

large onion, cut lengthwise
celery cut into 1 inch pieces and then thinly sliced
Saute onion, celery and beef.
Add water and cornstarch. Stir until thinckened.
Add soy sauce, bouillion and bean sprouts. Mix well
Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve with boiled rice and chow mein noodles.
