| 2 tsp | black pepper |

| 1/8 c | cumin powder (cumino) |
| 2 Tbsp | garlic, minced |
| 1/2 lg | green bell pepper, seeded, julianne+ |
| 2 lb | lean sirloin, cubed |
| 2 Tbsp | masa harina* |
| 2 Tbsp | salt |
| 1 lg | stew pot (or crock pot) |
| 1 lg | sweet yellow onion (1015 or Vidallia), rough chopped |
| 2 lg | tomatoes, rough chopped |
| 2 c | water |

Directions
In Large Stew Pot, combine Water and Masa Harina over Medium heat. Stir until dissolved.
USING A CROCK POT: Dissolve Masa Harina in the Water in a seperate stew pot or microwave safe dish, then pour into crock pot. Continue recipe.Add Salt, Black Pepper, Cumin Powder, Garlic, V8. Stir to combine.Reduce heat to Low.Add Meat, Onion, Green Bell Pepper, Tomato, Cilantro.Cover and ignore for 2-4 hours.
USING A CROCK POT: Dish can be set to cook all day if you are a career mommy/daddy with a day job.Turn off heat, let cool a few minutes before serving.+ Yellow Bell Pepper may be substituted for Green Bell Pepper if there is a sensative stomach coming to dinner. For added mildness, remove the inner membrane before adding to the dish.* For thicker sauce, increase this amount. Be sure to taste and adjust the rest of the seasonings to avoid any corn taste coming through.

This sounds great, I live in New Mexico and we love Mexican food I was trying to figure out what to fix for dinner. I was thinking about fixing Carne Adovada with Rice for dinner so I typed in Carne and pressed enter and came across your recipe. I am going to save this it looks great...Thank you I will have to make this....I love to use Masa Harina. We can buy it already mixed or dry and mix your own........Thanks again
