Meatloaf - Hubby's Favorite
beef bouillon paste (better than broth - costco)
lean ground beef
oats, uncooked - broken up
equal amounts of brown sugar, honey and ketchup
1Break up regular oats by placing in baggie and pounding them with a meat mallet or rolling pin. You don't want fine crumbs, but just broken pieces of oats.
2Preheat oven to 350*. Spray a shallow 9x13 baking pan with PAM.
3Mix all ingredients together well. Using your hands, form into a 9 inch long loaf, packing together firmly with no air pockets.
4Place meatloaf in pan and pour a little water in bottom of dish - about 1/4 inch deep.
5Bake 1 hour, uncovered. Mix glaze ingredients together. Spread on top of meatloaf.
6Continue to bake, uncovered, for approx. 30 minutes more. Check center of meatloaf to ensure juices are clear - no pink inside. Internal temperature should be 155*. Meatloaf crust will be dark brown.
7Remove from baking pan. Let cool 5 - 10 minutes for easier slicing. Use a sharp, thin knife to cut, which will make neater, less crumbly slices.
