Not bad for the waistline. Sort of spicy to the pallet. If you don't like black beans,substitute with dark red kidney beans.

1 can(15oz) black beans,rinsed and drained

1 smred onion,finely chopped

1/2 cfrozen corn,thawed

1/4 cdry bread crumbs

1 can(chopped green chilies4oz)

2 Tbspworchestershire sauce

1 tspgarlic powder
-
1/2 tspcumin
-
1/4 tsppepper
-
1/2 lbground beef
-
1/2 lbextra lean ground turkey

1/2 cfat free mayonnaise
-
1/4 csalsa
-
8 slicepepper jack cheese ...1/2oz each

8whole wheat hamburg buns

How To Make lynda's southwestern burgers

1In a large bowl,coarsely mash beans. Stir in next 8 ingredients,crumble turkey and beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 8 patties. Refrigerate 1 hour.

2Coat grill rack with cooking spray before lighting grill. Grill burgers,covered,over medium heat for 5-7 minutes each side,or until a meat thermometer reads 165 and juices run clear.

3Top with cheese,cover,and grill 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve on buns with toppings of your choice.
