So so simple... The only seasoning needed is salt and pepper. Let the skillet do the work then scrape the goodies and make gravy

Ingredients

1 Tbsp
oil
2 lb
beef cut into cubes
3
large potatoes quartered

carrots, chopped
salt & pepper
1/4 c
water

Directions Step-By-Step

Heat oil in iron skillet till you get a sizzle

Drop meat into skillet and cook on high stirring constantly to get a good browning. The secret to the whole dish is this step. Make sure the meat is dark and the skillet will start to seem slightly sticky

When meat sizzles dry add water and turn heat to medium

Cover and cook meat until it is tender at least one hour

Add carrots and potatoes and cook until a fork slides in and out easily. Do not over cook

Place meat, carrots, and potatoes in oven safe serving dish and cover with foil to keep warm
7
Make your choice of gravy using pan drippings
