Karla's StoryI came up with this sauce years ago and its a family favorite , my girls always asks me to make it when they come for dinner.
I use this sauce on alot of my recipes like my spanish green beans that are posted here also.
This sauce freezes great.
I don't measure my seasoning , so this is a ruff estimate. season to your liking .
ground country pork sausage
salt & pepper
onion , chopped
green pepper , chopped
sliced black olives , drained
mushroom pieces , drained ( i use the button)
spaghetti sauce mix
29 oz. can(s)
water ( to clean out the sauce )
2 (6oz) can(s)
mushroom steak sauce (giorgio brand)
crushed garlic (from a jar)
celery salt or flakes
hot yellow chili peppers , whole ; optional
1Fry hamburger and sausage in a large skillet; sprinkle with garlic powder , salt and pepper.(do not drain off fat)
2Add onion , green peppers ; fry until onions and peppers are tender , Add mushrooms and black olives.
3Sprinkle spice packet over top of meat mixture and mix in.
4Add tomato sauce ,water , tomatoes , steak sauce , sugar and spices and the cheese ; mix well.
5Add whole yellow chili peppers if you want a little spicy heat. Optional.(do not break)
6Simmer for atleast 30 minutes to 1 hr. ( I like to simmer my sauce all day) Remove hot peppers when done.
7Pour spaghetti sauce over cooked pasta and enjoy.
