Italian Shredded Beef

This is great for feeding a small crowd and depending on how much meat on the bun, will feed about 12-15.

We like to top with pepper rings or Giardiniera peppers for even more pizzazz!!!

Now add a side of chips and beans or maybe angelhair pasta and you have a nice party meal. :)

chuck roast
3 c
1 tsp
1 tsp
1 tsp
oregano, dried
1 tsp
basil, dried
1 tsp
onion powder
1/2 tsp
garlic powder
1 pkg
good season's salad dressing mix (dry)


1Trim fat from meat and place in roasting pan with a cover or use crockpot.
2Mix water and spices with a wisk.

Poke the meat all over with the tip of a knife and pour mixture over meat.
3Cook in crockpot on low for 8-10 hours (maybe 5 on high, but not sure).

If you're doing it in the oven it will be about 3 hours at 375*.

Check after 2 hours and turn over with a pair of tongs or meat fork.
4Cook another 45 min. to 1 hour, check for doneness and if tender enough to shred, remove to a platter and start to shred with forks, removing any residual fat.

Put back in pot, stir and heat through, about 10 minutes. Yum! :)
