My family is from Southwest Virginia and West Virginia. An all time favorite was a chilli dog or a chilli bun with mustard and onions. Most of the country makes it runny and with beans. We do not. Try it, you will like it.
1Place the hamburger in a dutch oven, cover it with water. Break the meat up and bring it to a boil. Add the seasoning. Continue to break up the meat.Simmer until most of the water is absorbed. This will take a while
2You can add as much chilli powder as you like.
3You can serve this over a hotdog in a bun or alone. Most people eat it with mustard and onions.
4Freeze this in small bags and keep on hand for quick lunches or dinners.
