ground beef and potato casserole

I learned this recipe from my mother and her as well. I was told it was a poor man's lasagna in the German household. I have tried several variations of this, but this is my favorite. Try adding canned mushrooms with the onions or spice it up with tomato sauce covering the beef. For an extra-special kick you can top it with shredded cheese. Make sure you adjust your cooking temps to match your extra ingredients.
