Ingredients For french onion dip burgers w/ potato chips

    butter
  • 4 md
    onions, vidalia, thinly sliced
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • kosher salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp
    thyme, dried
  • 1 can
    beef broth, reduced sodium
  • 1 1/2 c
    sour cream, fat-free
  • 2 lb
    ground beef, lean
  • 1/4 c
    worcestershire sauce, reduced sodium
  • 4 Tbsp
    onion flakes, dehydrated
  • 2 Tbsp
    parsley flakes
  • olive oil, extra virgin
  • 6
    rolls or buns
  • 36
    thick cut potato chips
  • sweet pickles

How To Make french onion dip burgers w/ potato chips

    Heat butter in skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions & bay leaf; season with salt, pepper & thyme. Cook, stirring often, until golden & soft, about 35 minutes. Deglaze pan with broth; cook until liquid is almost absorbed. Cool; discarding bay leaf. Stir into sour cream in bowl. Test if enough seasoning is needed; add as desired.

    Heat grill over medium high heat. In large bowl, mix beef, worcestershire sauce, dehydrated onion, parsley, salt & pepper.

    Divide beef mixture into 6 different portions; form into patties. Drizzle with olive oil. Cook burgers 5 minutes each side (medium).

    Place burgers on bottom roll/bun; top with onion dip, potato chips & a few pickle slices; top off with top roll/bun.
