Dad's juicy, slow-cooked roast

My father would make the best, juiciest roast at least once a month. I always looked forward to it. He would start cooking it on a Saturday night and by Sunday it would be ready.

Ingredients

3 lb
beef chuck roast
1/3 c
light, lower sodium soy sauce
1 pkg
dry onion soup mix
2 tsp
pepper

Directions Step-By-Step

Pour the soy sauce and soup mix into slow cooker, mix well.

Place roast into cooker. Add water until the top 1/2" of roast is not covered. Add pepper. Cover, cook on low for about 20 hrs or until meat is very moist and tender.

I usually add some carrots and potatoes along side the roast, the last couple of hours.
