Dad's juicy, slow-cooked roast

- 3 lb
- beef chuck roast
- 1/3 c
- light, lower sodium soy sauce
- 1 pkg
- dry onion soup mix
- 2 tsp
1Pour the soy sauce and soup mix into slow cooker, mix well.
2Place roast into cooker. Add water until the top 1/2" of roast is not covered. Add pepper. Cover, cook on low for about 20 hrs or until meat is very moist and tender.
3I usually add some carrots and potatoes along side the roast, the last couple of hours.
