Ingredients For coke (or beer) marinated steak

  • 1
beef steak (i love me a good t-bone or porterhouse steak)
  • 1 lg
    onion, chopped
  • 1 can
    coke (do not use diet!)
  • RUB:
  • 2 tsp
    brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt & pepper
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    paprika

How To Make coke (or beer) marinated steak

  • 1
Pour coke into bowl, add onions & steak. Marinate 20 minutes to overnight (i usually do at least 30 minutes - 2 hours).
  • 2
Meanwhile, in another bowl combine all rub ingredients & mix well. Set aside until ready to use.
  • 3
    Preheat grill.
  • 4
After marinade time is done, remove steak from marinade & reserve. Liberally coat both sides of steak with mixture & kind of pat down/rub it in.
  • 5
While gril is heating, take the reserved coke/onion mixture & whatever brown sugar/seasoning mixture falls off of steak & put in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to boil & boil until steaks are done.
  • 6
Grill your steak (depending on thickness & desired doneness) as you normally would.
  • 7
Serve with coke onions with the steak. Enjoy!
