Beef And Corn Pie

Ingredients

1 lb
ground beef
1/2 c
chopped onion
8 can(s)
whole kernel corn, 3/4 ounces, drained
8 oz
tomato sauce
1/2 c
bell pepper, chopped
1 tsp
dried basil
1/2 tsp
dried oregano
1/2 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
hot sauce

CRUST INGREDIENTS

1 c
flour
1/4 c
yellow cornmeal
1/4 tsp
salt
1/3 c
butter, softened
4 Tbsp
water

TOPPING INGREDIENTS

1/2 c
cheddar cheese, shredded

Step-By-Step

1Heat oven to 400 degrees.
2Cook ground beef and onion in 10 inch skillet, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
3Stir in corn, tomato sauce, bell pepper, basil, oregano, salt and pepper sauce.
4Prepare crust.
5Crust: Mix flour, cornmeal and salt in medium bowl.
6Stir in butter and enough of the water to make a soft dough.
7Press crust dough firmly and evenly against bottom and side of ungreased pie plate.
8Spoon beef mixture into pie plate.
9Bake 25 minutes.
10Sprinkle with cheese.
11Bake about 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
12Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
