I know, it sounds odd, but it is pretty good. I use to make it for an old bachelor friend, who just loved it. Always served it with just crackers. Give it a try!

Ingredients For beef and apple stew

1 lbtop round of beef, cut into 1 inch cubes

2 Tbspolive oil
-
1medium onion, sliced
-
2 Tbspflour
-
2tart apples, like granny smith, peeled, cored and sliced

1 can(13 3/4/oz) beef broth
-
1/2 tspground sage
-
1medium potato, peeled and cubed
-
1 cfrozen peas and carrots, thawed
How To Make beef and apple stew

1In a large saucepan over med-high heat brown the beef in oil.

2Stir in the onion and cook until tender.

3Stir in the flour, apples, broth and sage. Heat to a boil then reduce the heat.

4Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender. Add the potatoes and simer another 20-30 minutes. Stir in the peas andcarrots and simmer to heat through.
