Linda's Notes:

These are so tasty! My whole family loves them. I like to use the Stand and Fill taco shells. Tipping tacos is no fun! Also I get an aluminum casserole dish from the dollar store cause they are kind of messy. Use it and toss it.

Oh wow what a great way to make taco's and keep the meat cheese and shells hot! Why didn't I ever think of this before?

Just made them and they were great! I won't make tacos any other way. Meat stays so nicely in shell. Thanks for the recipe.

Your welcome! They are definitely time and labor savers. My grandkids love to "decorate" them with the toppings they like.

This recipe definitely pleased my kids! I loved it as well. We generally make a more authentic Mexican version of tacos having lived in San Diego, so this recipe is a great addition to have on hand. My daughter says she prefers this recipe to our usual one.

I only had about a lb and a third of ground beef, so I eyeballed about 2/3 of a 16 oz. can of refried beans, and about 3/4 of a 15 oz can of tomato sauce. I also just used taco mix to taste since I buy the big container of it at Costco. I can also control the spiciness this way as my younger child's palate doesn't appreciate even moderately spiced food.

I definitely agree with another poster that the flat bottomed taco shells would make life easier. Since my store didn't have them, I used the standard ones and crumpled up tin foil between them in the dish to make them stand up. A pain, but doable.

Nice, family friendly recipe!
